about

It's been some time since we've introduced some new faces to Death Proof Recordings; with a roster burgeoning with some great artists, we've found it hard to fit more in! But when we heard this guy's work we thought it only right to welcome him aboard. Mancunian Raden has already made his mark on other labels with some superb work, but this double player is proving right up our street.
It's also been a while since we've had some groove-laden tech house, to which this release has it in abundance.

'The Trip' is a great roller and the perfect way to open: a seven minute, organic, percussive number with stunning arpegiated synth work, super lively bass and plently of rhythmic wiggle.
His second number, 'Room', keeps that vibe going perfectly: clipped and bobbling beats fall over themselves in their surge forward beneath what is a deft nod to the 90's in some more subtle synth work, making for suspenseful impressive stuff in the breakdowns.

Berlin based Wilard - who is also a new name to the clique - offers up a wonderful curveball in his remix of 'The Trip' which is equally natural in the production. Typical of what is coming out of the German electronic powerhouse at the moment, it is a stunning weaving of plucked bass, finger clicks, and heavy-hearted chord stabs whilst maintaining that wonderful arpegiated sample which twists amongst the track, veering into almost jazzy territory at times.
